Sweat, Sweat, And More Sweat
Right, that’s the run done for today it was not a pleasant run at all, it was very humid and at one point I couldn’t see for sweat. I think I need to invest in a sweatband.
So which drink works for me water or isotonic drink?
Water works better for me when running under the hour mark, taking water with you will stop you from dehydration.
Taking water with you on any run will help you recover better.
Having one glass of water before you go out and as much water on the run as you feel fit in drinking.
Finish up with more water and then drinking a glass every hour seems to work for me.
I do think you need to see how your body and you feel and then try different amounts.
After running for over the hour I have found that having a isotopic drink helps recover.
Electrolytes: Minerals, like potassium, sodium, and magnesium, have an electric charge and help maintain your body’s ionic balance.
You lose electrolytes when you sweat and isotonic sports drinks help to replace them.
Let me know what works better for you after a running water or isotonic drink.
So the answer to the question is that they are both good for different jobs water is great for small runs.
Isotonic drinks are great on your long runs but like I said you know your body so listen to it try different drinks and tell me about them.
Stay safe and well hydrated.
